Hola!!!

Aquí presento a mi casco M1 usado en Vietnam. La red es la típica que se usó en esta guerra... era reversible, una en tonos verdes para la jungla y otra en color amarronado para playas y zonas arrasadas por Napalm.
El liner es de paracaidista pero el casco es de infanteria.

Como podreís observar tanto la funda, el casco y el liner llevan una insignia en rojo similar a la del grado de Teniente americano. Esta insignia identificaba a las unidades Beachmaster del US Marines Corps. Su función era la de desembarcar los primeros en la playa y si no había mucho jaleo controlar al resto de unidades de invasión.

Una breve información en inglés de esta curiosa unidad:

This helmet belonged to a US Marine "Red Patcher". These patches were worn by Marines of 1st, 2nd and 3rd LSB (Landing Support Battalion). The units were referred to as "LSB" and LSB Marines were called "red patchers" when I was in the Corps. The red patch unit are now called "TSB" (Transportation Support Battalion). The red patches are sewn on their USMC cover (field cap) just below the EGA and on the outside of their field uniform trousers near the knee. The following story covers the significance of the red patc
